Below are photos taken from Photo by Gibson, “dedicated to the memory and life’s work of commercial photographer Howard “Howie” Gibson.” He began his career on Long Island in the 30’s and soon after, he and his family moved to Germantown, NY. Howie’s career, primarily in Columbia and Dutchess Counties, included all facets of community life. Bruce Bohnsack, resident of Germantown, NY and President of GTel, purchased the collections in 1978 to maintain his local work. These collections take viewers on a “historical walk through mid-century rural upstate New York.” (source)
